What we are talking about here is Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the former having an exclusive downloadable content. It was earlier reported that Microsoft gave Take-Two a hefty sum of money (read: US 50 million) just to have the exclusivity. And from what's coming from RockStar, it's worth every penny.

Anyway, Games Radar recently asked Rockstar Games' Hosi Simon whether there would be any advantages to owning the PS3 version of the game that could rival the Xbox 360's exclusives. Simon initially answered "not that I can think of" then elaborated,
They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want. But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose.

Grand Theft Auto IV will be released this October.

Electronic Arts has long been known to gamers as a company that loves sequels and franchises. It looks like this trend will continue when EA finally unleashes the much-awaited Army of Two (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) on November 15.

While speaking to video game news site CVG, Army of Two lead designer Chris Ferreira was asked about the possibility of the game turning into a franchise. His candid answer: "This is EA right? So when we have a hit we'll make more."

Even though the first game isn't out yet, the company is also already bouncing around a few ideas about what to do with the sequel.

"Right now people tend to like it," said Ferreira, "so if we can make a sequel we can find out what people didn't like about the first and put in the stuff we didn't have time to - like originally we had 60 different co-op moves and only a tenth of those are going to make it into the final product."

When was the last time you played with crayons? Or wooden blocks? While some of you might think that it's all child's play, Echochrome from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) might just change your mind.

We've got another video tutorial for OLE or Object Locative Environment from the upcoming video game for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3. Honestly, after watching the video, this writer thought that Echochrome is all about perspective. Why? In the video, we see just black and white blocks. Then we are shown just how players would be able to manipulate the blocks and how to put a splash of color on them. In the end, the blocks tumble down on the floor quite unceremoniously.

We don't get it either, but it sure is relaxing to watch. Stay tuned for more news and info about Echochrome. In the meantime, check out the video.

A new partnership between casual games developer PlayFirst, Inc. and Hudson Soft aims to bring casual games onto the console digital download scene. With this new partnership, their first objective will be to bring Diner Dash into the console market.

Following this, they also plan on bringing other big-name casual titles to the consoles, such as Mystery of Shark Island, Sandscript, Zenerchi, Oasis, and Chocolatier.

According to Gamasutra, there hasn't been any word as to which consoles will be getting the title. Despite this, it stands to reason that the big three all have a stake in this, as the PS3 has the PlayStation Network, the Xbox 360 has the Live Arcade service, and the Nintendo Wii will be coming out with WiiWare. We'll give you guys info on where these casual titles will be heading when we get some news. Till then, sit tight!

I just wanted to give you a heads up that I will finally be posting the finale of our HDMI Cable Battlemodo today at 2pm EST. Before you see the results, though, I wanted to take you through the testing process, so the results will make total sense. You with me?
As you will recall, our previous test took place at Monster Headquarters. We brought Monoprice cables ranging from 6 feet to 50 feet, and pitted them against Monster cables using Monster's in-house testing system. A pulse pattern generator simulating real-world and futuristic TV signal sent bits through the cables to a digital serial analyzer. If the lines of 1s and 0s were clearly defined, the cable was good; if the lines grew too fuzzy, the cable's quality was deemed poor.
It was a good way to evaluate the physical differences of cable. Fortunately for cable shoppers, nearly all of the cables we tested—both pricey as hell and totally on the cheap—passed all of the tests, guaranteeing that they'd be...

The cat is out of the bag as NCsoft has given word on its plans for both the PSP and PS3. The fact that NCsoft would be producing games for Sony's PlayStation platforms was first announced during E3 but very little details were revealed then.

NCSoft's executive producer Richard Garriott gave out a few details to CVG in the Develop Conference in Brighton. He maintained that each title they plan on releasing will be "very carefully created for the console experience, not merely a straight port," adding that "unadulterated ports weren't very successful compared to games that you make sure are really crafted correctly for the console experience."

Ever since online play was introduced on consoles, financially viable MMORPGs have yet to grace the systems. Garriott explained the business models and technology have previously prevented most console companies and online game companies. However, he pointed out that gamers don't care about that. They want to just boot up the g...

Once again, it's time to take out your sniper rifles and machine guns. Codemasters and Mercury Steam have once again released another trailer for Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3, Xbox 360), and this time, it's got bosses.

In addition to facing your usual spear-wielding demons, Jericho introduces two interesting new bosses for people to kill. Not much is known about the two of them, but they're certainly creepy. The first one is a morbidly obese fellow suspended in the air by hooks. In the video, you'll see him gushing out blood... a LOT of blood, blood enough to cover your POV and distort your character's vision.

The second boss you'll see in this quick clip is your typical levitating, fire-wielding monstrosity. The big difference is that he's got some sort of burning minion who runs around trying to kill you while you're busy trying to take down his master, who's also busy sending fireballs your way.

If that doesn't sound like a recipe for supernatural horror, ...

When Electronic Arts said they've upped the ante on Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2), they definitely weren't kidding. While they've spun developer interview after developer interview explaining why Need for Speed was being redefined for a more hardcore audience, those interested in what EA Black Box was offering waited quietly for an up-close and personal look, taste and feel.

But wait no longer, because from Deutsch site (Netherlands) Game1, we've watched an in-game gameplay demonstration of Need for Speed ProStreet on what appears to be an updated version of the circuit race (or URL) and found our eyes momentarily glued to the screens in awe. That much detail (including damage and asphalt grain) with an almost unflinching framerate was dumbfounding - at the least.

Without further adieu, though, we'll let you check out the three-minute long gameplay video. Downtown Japan, here we come a-driftin'!
