PS3 owners in Japan would jump in delight after checking out their PSN. Just a couple of days ago, Sony updated the PlayStation Store to include 15 new downloadable games for only 600 (US 5) each.

Six first party titles are included, such as the classic car combat game in form of Twisted Metal EX, and hardcore RPG Wild ARMs that made gamers scratch their heads a wee bit too often because of insane puzzles and bosses. Armored Core, which went on to be a fully pledged top-class mech franchise, is also on the list.

Vampir: Kyuuketsuki Densetsu, yet another game with Dracula in it, was added soon after. Here's what you can get from Japan PSN today:

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) has been touting its video editing feature as one of its biggest draws. Now, in this trailer video that talks specifically about the video editor, we get to find out what the hype is all about. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised - or blown off your feet, whichever comes first.

More than just a replay enhancer, the video editing tool in Tony Hawk's latest skating title lets you take control of virtually everything about your video. Not only can you apply awesome effects such as borders, film grain distortion or slow motion to your video, you can actually control each and every angle that the video itself will be used. For instance, say you recorded a clip of yourself nailing that very tricky mid-air move. You can take control of the camera in that pre-recorded clip and move it to just about anywhere.

There's also this neat little feature when editing in your own video to a soundtrack - if you correspond the effects of you...

Electronic Arts Chicago has announced in the Comic-con Chicago that it is developing a brand new Super Hero fighting game franchise using the Marvel license. The game is slated for launch this 2008 for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

The development team handling this endeavor is known for their work on top fighting franchises such as the EA Sports' Fight Night series and DefJam: Icon. The General Manager and Vice President of EA Chicago Kudo Tsunoda shared his thoughts on this and what they plan on delivering to gamers:

We looked at past comic-based games to find out what was missing and what was needed to successfully translate the intensity, excitement and fiction from comics into fighting games. We re challenging ourselves to make a game that delivers on the Super Hero promises of past top-tier fighting games.

Featuring a great all-star line-up of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains with incredible powers that are authentic to the fiction,...

Sure, this one would be a breeze to Photoshop, but the fact that a Circuit City brochure so recently and successfully predicted a PS3 price drop gives us cause to hope. The teensy picture above purports to depict a new Wal-mart ad with that oft-rumored new $349 price point for the Xbox 360 Premium. The EXIF data checks out, so if it is a prank at least they took the time to do it right. No better way to figure out the legitimacy of this one than to wait it out -- and start betting on sales boost figures if Microsoft does indeed cut the price.

[Thanks, Brad]

Brutal body-slamming and sledgehammer-smashing wrestling action in this gameplay video of THQ's WWE Smackdown Versus Raw 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. While wrestling may be scripted, the moves themselves do hurt - and it's the same with this next-gen brawler, sporting moves that look painful to watch as they are fun to pull off.

In this video, we see Lashley and Jeff Hardy going at it toe-to-toe. We see the high-flying hijinks off the top rope that's typical of the Hardys from Jeff, as well as Lashley's signature cadre of dominating wrestling holds and moves. It's to note that the commentary this time around actually sounds very natural and convincing, unlike the robotic, one-liner descriptions of the game's previous iterations. The graphics are looking very sharp, with the animations slick, fast and awesome.

Enough from us, check out the video through the embed below. Enjoy!

Now that June has come and gone, the NPD Group finally released the resulting numbers of the console war from the period of March to June, and the entire first half of 2007. Check out the numbers in the graphs Ars Technica has provided to illustrate how each console fared, and judge for yourselves.

For the March-June graph, we can clearly see that the Wii shot through the ceiling with impressive numbers, with Xbox 360 going second and the PlayStation 3 falling in third. It should be noted that Sony has a big plan despite its losses though, and the fruits of its labor will clearly show should Blu-ray win the format wars.

On the handheld side, the DS towers over ALL systems, even the next-gen consoles. The PSP, while having lower numbers, is doing relatively well and is the only system whose numbers steadily increase as each month passes.

Moving on to the console sales charts for the first half of 2007, the order of how each console fared well ...

Superheroes usually have their roots in comic books, so it seems only natural that we see Sega's upcoming video game movie-tie in, Iron Man (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360), at the San Diego Comic Convention. GameTrailers was able to score a video interview with a rep for the game.

Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, finally gets his own solo game which will be coming out in conjunction with the movie. In the video interview, we get see a number of things that are included in the game, such as long range action (we see Iron Man catch a missile in mid-air and throw it right back) and a lot of flying around.

The rep also mentioned that the video game will be coming with some aspects from the comic book in addition to the movie nuances. We'll see what that refers to in the long run. In the meantime, check out the video of Iron Man.

PlayStation owners will definitely want to hear about this little tidbit of news we found over at the official PlayStation blog. Michael Shorrock, director of third-party relations at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), noted that they would be making a new franchise meant specifically for the PlayStation 3. More importantly, this franchise is said to be "all new," and will not be LA Noire.

"As part of our longstanding relationship with Rockstar," Sharrock writes, "and the incredible success for both companies with the cultural icon that is Grand Theft Auto, we ve agreed to the PlayStation exclusive rights of the next great franchise from the Rockstar studios." They've yet to note what this new deal with Rockstar is all about, but we're hoping more details about the deal and the new game will be revealed in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, it's a wonderful moment for speculation. What do you think about this new deal, and what do you think will this new g...
