After winning the hearts of dance music lovers at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest back in Istanbul, Ukrainian pianist, composer and singer Ruslana was announced to voice cast in Rockstar's upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV (for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). The announcement made at the official Eurovision web site today also highlighted that her songs would also feature as soundtracks in the euphoria-powered game.

As the writer and producer of her own local triple-platinum album, "Wild Dances", Ruslana will be heading to New York City for the sound recording phase of the game. The announcement indicated that her voice would be used for a certain character in the game, which at press time is kept confidential.

And while it was indicated that songs from her previous albums and new album would be incorporated to the soundtrack, there were none enumerated in particular. It's not a favorite past-time of Rockstar Games to publicize voice talents to be used in the...

Recent studies say that consoles don't really contribute to sales of movies in high-def format, but here's what Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Executive Vice President - International Matt Brown had to say:

The launch of the PS3 had a tremendous impact on Blu-ray software sales across the board. Recent sales figures are a clear indication that the PS3 is seen as an entertainment device.
Figures announced by Sony Pictures, as reported by Tech Digest, strongly support the statement. According to the announcement, 180,000 Blu-ray discs have been sold in Europe after experiencing a 1000 increase in sales since PS3's launch back in March.

"Casino Royale" got special mention for being one of the biggest titles. Combining 500,000 copies given away to PS3 owners and the actual number of copies sold easily makes it the most widely distributed Blu-ray film to date.

Sony Pictures added that more than 50 of Blu-ray titles in the UK, France, and Spain are tagged ...

When the demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Musou popped up over at the PlayStation Network (PSN), fans generally had two reactions: those who got it were really happy and excited (that includes QJ.NET) while fans who didn't were asking Koei and Namco Bandai why the demo wasn't released on their respective markets.

The latter is especially true for players in the PAL regions. Gaming site Eurogamer was wondering about the same thing and that's why it recently tried to contact Koei for some clarifications. According to the company's representative, the demo will be soon released for the said markets. It's just that they are on the process of localizing it for PAL territories.

Gundam Musou is one of the most successful PlayStation 3 video games in Japan to date. Namco Bandai decided to attach "Dynasty Warriors" for the title's release outside the Land of the Rising Sun - a move that aims to increase the game's popularity given the two franchise connected to the game.

We reported in earlier article that Sony said it will not be offering a live E3 special on PlayStation Home, while Microsoft will still be offering its E3: Bringing It Home special feature via Xbox Live. Despite this statement, PSXtreme spotted an Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) banner put up in the PlayStation Store.

The PlayStation Store currently has a header that says "E3: Get ready for something new July 11th - July 13th." The message certainly contradicts what the Sony spokesperson said about Sony not reconstructing the E3 experience for the PlayStation Home this year.

Will PS3 owners have a reason to be hopeful for awesome E3 content next week, then? Stay tuned here at QJ to find out.

A video game's soundtrack may go unnoticed for some, but it is an essential part of the entire gaming experience. When you're running out of time during a game, notice how the music suddenly goes faster? It sets the mood for certain things and certain people are very good at setting certain moods for video games.

One of those certain people is Michael Giacchino. He's an award-winning composer and he's coming back to Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor franchise as lead composer for the latest one, Airborne. Giacchino previously worked on the soundtracks of three other Medal of Honor titles: Underground, Allied Assault, and Frontline. If you're still wondering if he's worthy of composing the soundtrack for Medal of Honor: Airborne, he also worked on television series ("Lost" and "Alias") and movie ("Mission: Impossible III" and "The Incredibles") soundtracks.

Giacchino expressed enthusiasm on doing the project:

I m very excited to have the opportunity to work on...

If we would name something as the biggest news of the century, it won't be Nintendo buying Sony and Microsoft. Everything pales in comparison to what we just found. A tragedy it may be, but the heart of evil would laugh at such event. What exactly is this tear jerking news? A PS3 unit just died.

You read that right. The Xbox 360 might be suffering a 33 failure rate, but owners of the box are reported to be having the time of their lives. That isn't the case with this young man who desperately tried to save his dying PS3. You must be pretty intrigued now, so we'll get on with it.

There's this poster over the Blu-ray.com forums going by the name BluManta. On the post he made, he told the story of his friend who called him after said friend's PS3 "just died for no reason." Our hero in the making asked if any broken games, DVDs, or Blu-rays were used on the unit. Answers were all "no."

Finally, BluManta decided to venture over to his friend's place. To his shock...
