Another WWII shooter gets grounded as Electronic Arts announced that the release date featured in a trailer of Medal of Honor: Airborne released back in April at GameStop was specifically for the PC and Xbox 360 versions. Instead of an August 28 release date though, the PlayStation 3 version would be arriving by November.

As of press time, there has been no official word on the reason behind the delay but that it was already mentioned in some announcements that the PlayStation 3 system will get their copies by November. So it would appear that the game would have to join up with the Q4 title releases, a quarter shy of the PlayStation 3's possibly hard-hitting lineup of titles.

More on the developments as they come in. Stay tuned folks!

It is already given that Japan is Nintendo-land especially these days with Wii and DS dominating sales charts. PlayStation Portable fans, however, might be interested to know that the top-selling video game for the first half of 2007 comes from their platform, namely Monster Hunter Portable 2nd.

After showing love for the said title, Japanese gamers revert back to Wii Sports as it landed on the number two spot. Keep in mind that unlike in other markets, Wii Sports is not bundled with the Wii console in Japan.

Then comes Pokemon Diamond and Pearl on third place. Western-hit Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas landed on the 17th spot. For purposes of being fair and accurate, take note that PlayStation 3 titles Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and Virtua Fighter 5 appeared on the 29th and number 96th place respectively.

Furthermore, no Xbox 360 title made it to the top 100 during the first half of this year.

On a related matter, the top publisher in Japan during t...

I'm going to E3 next week again to cover the major announcements for Gizmodo and to give Kotaku a hand. There should be some hardware announcements to be had, especially with rumors of Sony cutting PS3 prices by $100. It'll be good to catch up with the Kotaku guys again, many of whom I've seen since last E3, but a few (Ashcraft) have been hiding in Japan since then.
You guys have anything specific you want to see covered at E3? The Rock Band accessories? Wonder if they'll let me put the two guitars, the mic and the drum kit in my pants. Let me know in the comments. Don't know how to comment? Here's how:
1) Click on the "Register" link on the top right of the page. Fill out the form by choosing a username, password and email for your eventual comment account.
2) Choose a post, click on it, and scroll to the bottom.
3) Fill in the comment.
4) Refresh the page to see if your comment shows up. If it hasn't within a day or two, try again with a bet...

The last time we heard about Harmonix's Rock Band for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, we were introduced to the various game modes we'll be able to play in the game, as well as the different instruments available for us to rock out on.

Now, here are some burning hot screenshots of the title in action that's sure to get any armchair rockstar partying long and partying hard. Looking at the screens, there's certainly a lot going on, with one track each for the Bass, the Lead Guitar and the drums, as well as the song's actual lyrics over head.

One good thing about this is that this really gets everyone playing and rocking out at the same time, rather than just having one track on the screen and the different instruments taking turns in playing their pieces.

It's also good that you'll be able to see your band performing onscreen as well - here's hoping that it turns out just like Guitar Hero's in-game band meter, where you can keep track of just how ...

Next week you’ll be able to download E3 content onto your PS3 from the PlayStation Store. Such as the entire SCEA press conference, trailers, videos, and hopefully some demos. Good move on Sony’s part. That’s what the network should be used for. I’ll be using remote play from work next week to check the PlayStation [...]

Next week, starting July 10th, is going to be a very interesting time for those of us who own Blu-ray enabled consoles. (Yes, I’m talking about PS3 owners here.) E3 is coming, and Sony is promising us an interesting show. What does next week have in store? Here’s my thoughts on the rumour mongering. SIXAXIS Rumbler [...]

Stunts in the movies are done with precision and timing and we'll be seeing much of that in this new trailer for Stuntman: Ignition.

Paradigm Entertainment's upcoming video game is all about the gritty and dangerous job of being a stuntman. Take note that the movies you'll be making in this PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title won't be ones with rainbows and green meadows full of flowers. In this new trailer for Stuntman: Ignition, you'll be working in a town whilst it's being besieged by burning fireballs of molten lava. The director will pretty much give you the directions on the stunts you need to make, but can he blame you if you miss a turn or two? Driving around a burning town amidst a volcano eruption is pretty challenging.

Stuntman: Ignition is still set to hit the shelves on August 28. In the meantime, enjoy the video.

Good news for gamers, if it turns out to be true. According to GameDaily, the earlier report of a PlayStation 3 US 100 price cut now has some kind of confirmation.
After some nosing around, the guys at GameDaily got to talk with a merchandising manager for the electronics retailer who confirmed the rumored price-cut (which will drop the price tag of Sony's console to US 499).

The anonymous manager also went on to say that the price cut is "retail-wide", meaning the said price cut was given by SCEA. The hundred dollar price cut will supposedly take place on July 12, though the ads hailing it will go live a couple of days later on July 15.

Hmm... What do you think? Is the price cut confirmed or plausible? We'll have to take into account that Sony is still keeping mum about the subject and the fact that the "anonymous" manager is, well... anonymous. We'll have to see how this goes when Sony decides to release a official announcement. Stay tuned.

We've been seeing a number of alternate reality video games for a while. We're shown how the Chernobyl disaster could have gone much worse in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and how the Cold War could have turned out if it broke out into all-out war in World in Conflict.

Well, Spark Unlimited and Codemasters' Turning Point: Fall of Liberty explores another alternate history reality where Winston Churchill dies before WWII breaks out and Britain folds under the Axis forces without his leadership. So basically, all the Nazis needed to do was waltz over to the eastern seaboard of the US and blast everything to smithereens. Enter Joe Somebody - maybe even Joe Anybody - into the scene. The trailer shows just how Joe Somebody got thrust into the war and how massive the attack was.

Check out the video as we're sure you're going to find it interesting. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 is still scheduled for a Q4 release for North America. In the meantime, wa...

The new PS3, 360 shooter game from Day 1 Studios Fracture sounds ambitious enough to start a whole new genre of games. Fracture will be utilizing the new method of Terrain Deforming, which almost didn't make it into the original design because of some apprehensions to the concept.

The story of Fracture will be told through the eyes of soldier Mason Briggs. He is a soldier of the United States 150 years from now. Only in this universe, America is divided in two, the East and the West, hence "Fracture." One side is dedicated to using technology for the improvement of mankind, and the other side aims to advance genetic engineering. Now this isn't your average shooter game, this is going to be more a mix of adventure, shooter, and strategy thanks to the new terrain deformation system.

In an interview with GameInformer, Denny Thorley and Jon Kimmich of Day 1 Studios reveal how players will be using high powered weapons that, if used in real life, would really mess up ...
