If there's one thing you need when you're taking on supernatural monstrosities with tower shields or blade-armed giants, it's a machine gun. Any kind of machine gun, preferably with bullets consecrated by the power of God. Lacking that, any old bullet will do.

We've got a new video for Codemasters and Mercury Steam's supernatural shooter, Clive Barker's Jericho (PS3, Xbox 360), and it features your character, machine guns, and a bunch of baddies going down. As you can probably guess from the gameplay, it's going to be very gory, and you WILL die a couple of times. Good thing this is a game, right?

Without further ado, here's the video. Enjoy!

Known for his genius behind Katamari Damacy (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable), Namco Bandai's Keita Takahashi was recently selected by GameCity to offer his personal and creative insight to anything under the videogame industry sun at the next GameCity Annual Interactive Entertainment Festival on October 27, 2007.

The event, sponsored by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), will have former artist Takahashi taking the inspirational helm at the Vision Statement portion, sharing his game creation ideas and experiences to gamers - and not just game developers.

Back in 2006, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning gave his own speech on an optimistic future for video games - a speech well-received by critics in the gaming media and gaming community alike. Like yesteryear, GameCity will be focusing on gaming as a societal and cultural phenomenon, celebrating its uniqueness in the entertainment industry all over the UK.

The fes...

Destructoid reports that EA gave them a spoiler of sorts regarding this title. It turns out that there's a Wolfenstein level hidden in the game which can be unlocked. For the uninitiated, Castle Wolfenstein was one of the fathers of FPS and is certainly an icon of modern gaming.

Destructoid explains "in the Medal of Homer stage, Bart and Homie are hired to steal white flags from a town trying to surrender so that they can get firebombed. However, if you put your chores aside and transform into Bar...

While many retailers have long begun cranking up their pre-order engines for Electronic Arts' Rock Band, created by Harmonix, customers have been wondering how much they'd have to pay to grab the game and the whole set of peripherals that would accompany it. Pre-order prices taps the price tag to US 199.99 for the complete package, reports Eurogamer, although EA claimed that the prices are a result of "pure speculation."

While still tagged as a rumor, more retail chains have set a US 80 tag on the Xbox 360 Wireless Guitar peripheral, and still consistent with our first report, it's US 20 more than the PlayStation 3 equivalent. A single copy of Rock Band is still priced at US 60, microphone at US 30, and the drum set for US 80.

But as with all retail chains, placeholder prices are often preempted before the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) could even be substantiated. They push through with the estimated prices anyway just to ensure that ma...

Here's an ironic new twist to the console wars: the Wii has taken the lead in having the most exclusive games. Most of the attention from the console wars has been on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 but adding this to the success of the Wii, Microsoft and Sony might have to rethink their battle plans.

The data for counting comes from Gaming Target and they have a couple of stringent rules that apply to the word "exclusive," but it seems to be an accurate way of qualifying what an exclusive is.

Some of the more pertinent rules state that if a game appears on the PC, it's not counted in the tally since we're talking console wars. Also, if a game appears in the previous gen of consoles, then it's also not counted. Basically it only counts if and only if the console has a game all to itself (not counting the PC and Mac).

Other pertinent info of the data is that it focuses on North American tallies: titles that are limited to other countries aren't counted. A...

A report from Xbox360 Only has claimed that Codemasters will be releasing a playable demo of Clive Barker's Jericho (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) sometime this August. Andrew Wafer of Codemasters told Gaming Only that three versions of the demo will be simultaneously released over Xbox Live, the PlayStation Store and over major download sites for the PC.

Fans of the author-slash-director will get to see the paranormal horror action title up close and personal soon. Plenty more details on the game has been spilled during the interview, but it has yet to be published into streaming video as of press time.

But Clive Barker himself has confirmed that the game harbored the same traits that define his stories back in an exclusive interview at the Hollywood & Games Summit 2007. He said, "...With Jericho I think there s really some Barker there." And if his mention of the game plot involving "an assassination attempt upon a creature that gives the devil the sh...

Given that Sony Online Entertainment's The Agency is heading for both the PlayStation 3 and PC, it leaves plenty to be asked on what the agency (SOE) has in store for the game. The biggest question being asked is whether there are plans to make this MMORPG a multi-platform experience, with players from either system (PS3, PC) able to compete against each other in the game's spy vs. spy- themed world.

This was the topic of a recent interview between CVG and The Agency lead designer Hal Milton, who stated that the company was not ready to make any comments at time.  "We're evaluating this [cross-platform support]," Mr. Hamilton further said regarding the game.

We're hoping the devs do give this serious thought - cross-system connectivity appears is hitting it off lately (at least in Shadowrun's case), and just might give SOE that extra clout needed for them to make good their aim to gain global foothold in the industry. More details on this possib...
