Just when we thought PlayStation Violence was almost at an end, a student at Cal State Fresno shot three other students over an argument about a PlayStation. The model of the PlayStation wasn't specified, but we're going to assume that it wasn't over a PS2 or a PS1.
Long story short, it seems the person who did the shooting acted in self defense when four men came to his apartment at night—one of which died from his injures. – Jason Chen

Okay, he didn't specifically talk about the same Folding that the PS3 does, but a similar research application. Moore told Mike Antonucci of The Mercury News: Then if we truly believe that we can in some way marshall the resources of a much larger installed base of Xbox 360 owners, with a processor that's of equal power to the PS3, then you have my commitment that we'll look at that. And if we believe we can add value to solving a gnarly problem such as the medical problems and the health problems that Folding@home seems to be doing, then we'll certainly look at that very strongly. We've speculated about users developing their own research project as part of the XNA Game Developers Framework and our own Adam Frucci has begged for Folding to come to the Xbox 360, and it seems Microsoft is listening. It would just be so much easier if they just developed the project in house and included it into an update like the annual spring update, which went live today. –Travis Hudson

This one's just off the excitement meter! Electronic Arts (EA) finally confirmed that it indeed acquired the license to the Simpsons video game franchise and that a new game will be appearing on platforms PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 (PS2), Wii, DS, and PlayStation Portable (PSP) this fall.
The game will not be based on the movie, mind you. The premise for the title is that the whole family realized they are actually trapped in a video game. Knowing how [dys]functional this family is, what the Simpsons did was use the opportunity to give themselves special powers.
Example of these powers include Homer changing into Homerball after picking up edible power-ups (doughnuts?) and lava version of the Homerball after eating chili pepper. Likewise, Bart has his signature slingshot attack and he can morph to Bartman as well. A level called "Around the World in 80 Bites" features eating his way through an international food festival in Springfield.

We're sure a lot of gamers have been wondering about Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (for the PlayStation 3). We saw the E3 trailer, grainy scans, and some leaked screenshots, but we're sure you've been waiting for additional info. Or perhaps another video.
Don't worry, it seems we won't have to wait long. News for Gamers (N4G) was able to score some details from a "reliable source". Reportedly, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is underway and on schedule. They quoted Naughty Dog's lead character artist, Richard Diamant:
The marketing train is moving! Pretty much every month there is going to be some kind of preview I believe somewhere. In terms of gameplay.. well.. I'm not sure when we are going to release that to the public.. but the ship date is coming up fast! So regardless it wont be too long of a wait!!
Diamant also hinted that we'll be seeing more of the action adventure title - on Gamer's Day. The Sony Gamer's Day will be held next week ...

We are brought to tears by the latest series of screenshots of the third console sequel to the clump-rolling sleeper hit, Beautiful Katamari (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) - brought to us in full Royal Rainbow Color by the good folks over at GamePro. For those of you who are still worrying about the game staying loyal to its roots, a gander at these screens would put to rest any and all doubts.
Ah, simple blocky graphics and equally-simple gameplay, how we miss you, and how these screenshots from the video game's developer Namco Bandai tease us so!

GameTrailers gets us up to speed on the multiplayer features of the much-awaited skateboarding title for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Skate, by way of an interview with Jay Balmer, the game's producer. In the brief clip, we learn that besides being able to skate an urban world filled with non-skating civilians to mess with, we're given the opportunity to make videos of our own while playing the game, and be able to let other players watch those videos - just the motivation we need to get that sick combo down pat and earn huge online bragging rights.
When asked about the video game's release date, Jay Balmer didn't quite nail it down to a specific date, but he did confirm that Electronic Arts' Skate will be released sometime this year. Let's hope he sticks to his word. For a game that promises to bring the true experience of skating, as well as an awesome-looking trailer, waiting for it is going to be as painful as road rash.

Sega has announced their newest "Sound Novel" game for the PlayStation 3, Inbikisou, via Japanese magazine Famitsu. Reportedly, this will be an adventure title, which will be reminiscent of Sega's first-person action game for the Xbox 360, Condemned: Criminal Origins.
Inbikisou is said to be 60 complete already, and is in fact eyed to be released by autumn this year for Japan. We don't have many details yet regarding this game, but we do have some scans from Famitsu, care of French site Jeux-France.
What we can guarantee for now is that we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more details on Inbikisou, and we'll be sure to give you the heads up for it when it does happen. In the meantime, why don't you check out the scans and see what you can make of it? If you've got some Japanese skills and know what is being talked about in the scans, let us know, alright?

When asked about the possibility of seeing Command and Conquer 3 grace platforms other than the Xbox 360 and the PC, Senior Producer Mike Glosecki had this to say:
We haven t officially confirmed anything, but I don t see why it s not feasible... The controls are practically the same.
He was talking about a PS3 version in that one, as for a possible Wii version?
There isn t as much under the hood, so it obviously won't look as good. But as far as control goes, I don t see why it can t be done.
Australian gaming news site, GamePlayer, notes that although EA has yet to make any official announcements, the Wii's impressive sales are difficult to ignore and worth investigating. Well what's your take on this? Is the jump to other platforms worth making?
In related news, when it comes to future updates for the Xbox 360 version of Command and Conquer 3, Glosecki notes that they're still in discussions with Microsoft over the finer details of...

It looks like the long wait is over for Guitar Hero fans impatient to get their thrash on with the currently Hero-less PlayStation 3, as a new USB adapter from Pelican promises to succeed where others have floundered and enable controllers from both PlayStation 2 versions to work on the newest console. As you may recall, the compatibility problem arises from the guitars' lack of the PS button required to start PSone and PS2 games on the PS3; Pelican's adapter addresses this issue by sporting a PS button of its own, along with three LEDs to indicate whether the unit is in regular, Guitar Hero left, or Guitar Hero right mode. Sounds pretty snazzy, and if it works as promised, may allow you to finally retire the old PS2 once and for all.

There have been rumors about it before, but it's only now that an evidence of sorts has surfaced regarding the matter. The rumors were basically about what the format of the 30th anniversary edition of "Star Wars" was going to be - Blu-ray or HD DVD? For those on the Blu-ray side of the argument, here's a little something for you: WesleyTech.com reports that Amazon has product pages up for BOTH trilogies in the Blu-ray disc format.
The first and second "Star Wars" trilogies each have its own product page on Amazon.com. Each has the current status of "we will e-mail you when this title becomes available". Below are screens of the listings:
Is this the Blu-ray format showing some muscle, or is this fallout from that whole HD-DVD security hullaballoo? Given the loyalty of Star Wars fans, will this cause larger adoption rates for Blu-ray over HD-DVD? Will this help position the PlayStation 3 as a cheap Blu-ray player? Given that nothing's confir...
