Ah, Sweden. Home to Swedish meatballs, Swedish massages, and Swedish gaming exclusives. Okay, not so sure about the meatballs and the massages, but remember those Halo 3 scans?

Here's another Swedish exclusive: this time GameReactor on squeezing details out of Juice Games on their sequel to the pre-gen Juiced and the PSP's Juiced: Eliminator. We're talking about Juiced 2 for the PSP, PS3, and Xbox 360, as well as the PS2 and PC.

Below is a downloadable of the free Swedish mag for you to look at and read, if you know Swedish.

Of course, our knowledge of Swedish extends only to Swedish meatballs and receiving Swedish massages, so we're thankful that Manager from NeoGAF either knows Swedish or knows someone who knows Swedish. Here's Manager's summary of the nutritional information and Recommended Daily Allowances for Juiced 2:
Release September, on PC, PS2, PS3, X360, PSP. Developers listened to the complains about the first one being too advanced, so they'...

In a recent interview with Peter Hines (there's a lot of 'em going about), IGN quizzed Bethesda's PR guy on Oblivion-related snippets. For this segment, they focused on the company's reason for making a PS3 release. Barring the PS3 vs. 360 discussion from previous talks, Hines explained that "We've (Bethesda) never actually done a triple-A game on a Sony platform before and that was something we really wanted to do."

He went on to explain that since the Sony line of consoles always had an affinity for Japanese-made RPGs (Final Fantasy/Xenosaga/Dragon Quest, anyone?), Oblivion would be the first epic western RPG to make it to the console.

In line with that, it would hopefully touch on a wider demographic who could enjoy its unique settings. "It's really about reaching out to a whole new group of people," as Hines said.

Moving on with the discussion, Hines touched on another PS3-centric topic: What was his take on the SIXAXIS?

"I think that its value d...

This is a marketing man’s dream! Much has been made of the similarities between the PlayStation 3 logo and the Spider-Man film franchise logo, so you can imagine the person challenged with marketing the PS3 version of the game has a small smile on their face (whilst those working on the 360 and [...]

In a statement from its Japan press office, Sony confirmed that smaller chips for the PlayStation 3 are already in the works and should be out by late 2008 to early 2009.

It was also revealed that current KYEC 90nm chips will most likely be halved in size, paving the way for a sleeker version of the console.

It must be noted that the PS3 still hasn't debuted in Europe at the time when word got out that the slimmer PS3 is on the way. The development, though, comes to nobody's surprise as the console's predecessors, the PSX and the PS2, also underwent tremendous size reductions.

Fans are hoping that the slim version doesn't carry the same heat issues that came along with the shrinkage which plagued PS2 users who reside in warmer and more humid areas.

What would Sega's Virtua Tennis be without the mini games? We couldn't say for sure but this writer here just can't get enough of them.

As the latest installment of the tennis franchise, Virtua Tennis 3's (Xbox 360, PS3) mini games were beefed up to 12. The familiar ones were given a major makeover like the Bullseye, Alien Attack and the Pin Crusher. Other mini games like the Drum Attack and the Balloon Sniper would be great to improve your game.

Enough prattle from us, we'll leave you to check out the gameplay trailers and judge for yourself. Enjoy!

Kotaku's Michael McWhertor reports that "With the exception of the Xbox 360", console sales for the NDS all the way to the PS3 across the Pacific area, have seen a spike at retail. Below are what he claims to be Media Create figures for the week of February 4 to 11 2007.
Nintendo DS Lite - 201,177Wii - 78,550PSP - 32,175PlayStation 3 - 23,431PlayStation 2 - 16,033Xbox 360 - 4,811Game Boy Advance SP - 980Game Boy micro 884Compare this to the previous week's numbers and you'll see that pretty much everything sold a lot better. Judging from the numbers, we feel that one could safely say that despite heavy criticism, the PS3 isn't "dead" yet. It's just not on top. We'll leave the interpretation of that, and speculation regarding the console's (the PS3s) future to you folks. As for the PSP, it's good to see that's it's up at third. So what if it's not top dog? It's still selling.

Anyway, given that it seems that every one and their pet dog in Japan owns a DS li...

... is like saying: Somehow, I wonder how they ever got through World War II alive and kicking, but that's a testament to the tenacity of the humble front-line grunt. Activision's Call of Duty 3, for the PS3, which was tossed onto my lap recently (and the editors told me to take it home and choke on it... wow they must really love me) has a ton of them GIs. A few shoot with you, many more shoot at you: if you value your head, I advise you keep it down.

That's the good news. If you've bought COD3 to give lead as good as, if not better, than the other guy, then this game gives it well enough. Toss in multiplayer and the game could become well worth the purchase for that reason (even right alongside Resistance: Fall of Man, COD3 has potential bang for buck value in that department). You have to be a fan of WWII shooters to really appreciate it, I think, and at least in single-player, you gotta be prepared for a lot of Jerry thrown at you at any given moment - probably even m...

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. and Activision announced today that they've come to a musical agreement of sorts to work hand in hand to bring realistic surround sound to video games.

The new partnership means that from this day onwards, all the games that go through Activison's audio production facilities in North America will be optimized by Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

Last year, Activision already worked with Dolby to enhance the sounds in Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox360. And with this newly inked deal, Activision says that most of their games for the PS3 and Xbox360 will also feature Dolby Digital 5.1.

Douglas Greenfield, Senior Director of Dolby Labs says,
We are glad to be working so closely with a major publisher like Activision to help the company deliver more vivid and engaging surround sound experiences to gamers. In the high-definition era, games need to sound as good as they look. By optimizing its audio production facilities for Dolby Digital 5...

Most UK retailers have already started their pre-orders. Pop into any GAME, PC World, Currys, Dixons - they all have PS3 pre-orders on the go. Even online retailer Play.com have starting taking Pre-orders, promising to deliver PS3's on release day for those who get their orders in early. But the UK's favourite online retailer was a little slow in opening up PS3 pre-orders.

Amazon UK were supposed to start accepting pre-orders on February 15th at 9am (a time still later than other sites), but in fact nobody was allowed to place pre-orders until 1:35 that afternoon. Gamesdog reports that this morning at 10:30am GMT there were still PS3's available, but after checking Amazon UK as of now (21:45 GMT), there are no PS3's available.

However, Amazon have stated that they will be doing the same as Play.com and only allowing the amount of PS3's they will have for release day to be pre-ordered. The message from amazon right now is "We expect to have more PlayStatio...

Just recently, online gaming communities everywhere have had a field day after a particularly embarassing set of PS3 photos made it to the internet. The photos that we're referring to are the ones that show a PS3 pre-order display booth which was composed of a cardboard print-out of a PS3, strapped onto a fully-functioning Xbox360.

Spotted within the premises of the high profile Australian retail chain, Harvey Norman, the Bondi Junction store became the center of unwanted attention when Kain (aka, "hiredgoon" in Flickr) managed to take snapshots of the faulty set-up and then post it in Flickr before going to bed. From there, the whole incident has practically snowballed, making its way to various gaming blogs, and ultimately, to the people of Sony.

Though Microsoft has declined to make comments on the matter, Sony Australia's Adrian Christie has referred to the display as "alarming news." Considering that the PS3 is yet to be released in Australia and Sony is trying ...
