The internationally renown newspaper, The New York Times, has published its op-ed piece on the PS3. And they dislike it. They really dislike it. We’ve debated these points a million times, so there’s no point in going over them again; that’s just not the point. Being a PlayStation fan is sometimes like being repeatedly kicked in [...]

Nike has created a PS3 Sneaker: While this sounded ridiculous at first, apparently only 24 pairs of shoes were made as a limited collectors item kind of thing. Nike PlayStation 3 Air Max 360/90 Hybrid

Game music is something that never goes away. From the memorable Aeris Theme in Final Fantasy VII to the insane opening music for the Katamari Damacy games, music helps to define the game you play and the emotions you feel while playing in subtle, entertaining ways.

That's why it was an interesting surprise to hear about the soundtrack for Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. Laura Karpman, musical composer for EverQuest II's soundtrack and Steven Spielberg's "Taken" miniseries, helmed the production of this game's score.

Karpman even decided to take an interesting reference for their game. The game's score features lyrics adapted from a piece of medieval poetry and performed by the FilmHarmonic Orchestra and Choir. Better still, the poem used was "William Wallace", the source of the Braveheart legend that spawned a movie and a lot of melee battles featuring huge swords and men in kilts. Talk about an action piece with a heroic score.

Of course, we're hoping our PS...

Okay, enough with the conflicting reports in Engrish, enough of Casino Royale trailers on Gamers' Day, enough of the wild speculation and rampant imaginations. If you haven't been toying with your PSP and your PS3 at the same time - because you don't have one of each, or you currently are or will be too busy playing games, and you don't know how Remote Play really looks like...

Thank salimdao who sent us these YouTube embeds of his PS3 (FW1.10) throwing itself to the PSP (FW3.0) through Remote Play. That's the PS3, a music CD, a BD of "Talladega Nights", and a Memory Stick full of media files, all on the small widescreen of the PSP. You see everything from PS3 setup, to PSP setup, to the handshake between the two, and then Remote Play getting down, four on the floor. No, really. The PSP was on the floor the whole time.

That's four YouTube videos to look at. The Blu-Ray one, however, is either incomplete, or salimdao wasn't able to make it work, because it ends before ...

GameStop, the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer, has just revealed information regarding the PS3's surprisingly low attach rate in its quarterly statement call.

The third and by far most powerful console in Sony's PlayStation series had a pretty low attach rate of 1.5 games per console, with Madden NFL 07 and Resistance: Fall of Man getting the honors for best-selling titles.

GameStop attributed the low numbers for the PS3 to the rash of consoles getting bought just to be sold again to others at a large premium. Yep, it's essentially the Ebay effect all over again, folks.

It is believed however that the numbers will go up once these units make their way into the hands of those who really want them so they can actually play videogames. On the other hand, Nintendo's Wii console had a "surprisingly good" attach rate of 3.0 games per console sold. The top-selling Wii games at GameStop and EB Games were Legend of Zelda: Twilight Pri...

Apparently Sony's kicking off an early Thanksgiving break tomorrow, as they seem to be exhausting themselves today in preparation. After breaking the news that PSP Spots are US bound, floating the PSP 3.0 firmware out, and probably dealing with that massive invoice they just received from Thomas Menino and friends, the company is issuing a quasi-promise that the 1080i / 720p output problems plaguing some distraught PS3 owners will be fixed. Interestingly enough, Sony places a slightly unbelievable amount of blame on "antiquated HDTVs," as if having an HDTV that supports 720p is some sort of hidden requirement to operate a PlayStation 3. While we fully understand that most HDTV sets purchased today will indeed play nice with 720p signals, where's the love for folks who snagged those first generations sets produced by yours truly? According to Sony, a fix is on the way, but it doesn't sound like you'll be getting served with a smile.

Australia's new copyright bill looks like it could soon be causing sleepless nights for anyone that owns an iPod or other digital audio player if its enacted in its current form, with strict limitations that could seemingly affect individuals whether they know they're infringing on copyright or not. Under the harshest penalty, The Sydney Morning Herald Reports, an individual can face up to five years in jail and a fine of AUD$65,000 if he/she possesses "a device, intending it to be used for making an infringing copy of a work or other subject-matter." What's more, under "strict liability provisions", you can be hit with a $6,600 fine or ticketed by police on the spot to the tune of $1320 simply for possessing infringing material, even if you didn't know you were violating copyright. While there were recently exceptions made to permit CD ripping, even those are apparently too limiting to be workable, according to Intellectual Property Research In...

Here's a clip of the PS3 and PSP playing well together over WiFi. If you've forgotten, Remote Play is a mode on the PS3 that lets you use a PSP handheld as both a controller and a remote screen for the Playstation over WiFi. The thing is, all you can do is browse the net, which you can already do on the PSP. And you can hit up the vids, photos, and videos on the PS3. But not access the Blu ray discs. Too bad, streaming downsized Blu ray over WiFi would be pretty fantastic.
Also, the PS3 becomes unusable in any other form while its in Remote Play mode. And...
In remote play, the PS3 becomes an access point, and the PSP needs to hook up to it Ad Hoc. At least that's how it went for us. Mainly, because the PS3 wouldn't let us set up an AP that was WEP, it wanted to go to WAP on our G network. Anyhow, its fine: the PS3 remained connected to our main internet access point while this was going on.
Also, the PSP isn't doing any sort of PS3 interface in emula...

I swear. Sometimes you see the weirdest things being auctioned online. Bricked PSP-omelettes and whatnot. With the PS3 launch and some 50 hired homeless men to wait in line for a console, auctions for a PS3 online is now a fact of life. And with sheer amounts of people trying to eke out an eBay incentive, you're bound to hit something strange. And that's just what this is. Strange. But tempting...

reyperez7 is selling his PS3 unit for US$9,500. Pretty steep, that's for sure! And to think, PS3 prices have already dropped on eBay already. Plus, not only is it way steep for a PS3, in fact, it's just a 20GB model. He's promising that it's still sealed and very much new - straight from Best Buy. So what makes his starting bid so high?

Well, if you do purchase his PS3, you're going to get a free BMW with it! Yes, guys: buy his console and you get an additional car with it! We're not kidding. He's not kidding. And if you check his stats, the bid's legit. He says tha...

Last night after work I dropped by a couple stores and finally found a place that had several Motorola headsets. The numbering is a little off, but the three I found in increasing price and quality were: Motorola H850 Motorola H500 Motorola H700 So I picked up the H700, brought it home, and charged it up. From what I [...]
